Russel Burt

Russell Burt, Convenor of the Manaiakalani schools cluster, Principal of Pt. England School

Russell has been an educator for over 30 years and has worked in Tamaki since 1991. He has extensive experience working with Māori and Pasifika children and families through both school and community. On secondment with the Ministry of Education, Russell has assisted with the provision of quality staff for New Zealand schools and in the development of schooling improvement for low decile schools. He has been working at the forefront of digital technologies in learning since the mid-90s. Russell is a long term member of the Pt. England community and is involved in many community capacity building activities.

Dorothy Burt

Dorothy Burt, Head of the Manaiakalani Education Programme

Dorothy’s teaching career has spanned all levels of the school system, having worked in primary, intermediate and high schools. She joined the staff at Pt England School in 1991. She has been widely acknowledged for her work in digital learning, and each year hosts hundreds of visitors from around NZ and globally, as well as undertaking speaking engagements and workshops. In 2007 Dorothy was recognised as an Apple Distinguished Educator as well as becaming a Ministry of Education eFellow, and in 2008 she received the Google Certified Teacher award at the Googleplex in California.

Our chartered accountants are David Jessop and Associates based in Auckland and Christchurch.

Our auditor is Deloitte based in Auckland.

Pat SneddenWhen Pat Snedden helped to establish the Manaiakalani Education Trust, and became the executive Chair in 2011, the kaupapa of the trust was declared to be "in service of the Manaiakalani Schools and the Manaiakalani programme.
