Professional Development

In 2012 this work is funded by ICT PD Regional Collaboration and the Manaiakalani Education Trust and involves the 7 foundation schools:
Pt England. Tamaki College, Tamakai Intermediate, Tamaki Primary, Panmure Bridge School, St Pius X School, Glenbrae School.
We are pleased to have had St Patricks and Glen Innes Primary Schools join us this year.

The work is facilitated by a team lead by Dorothy Burt and researched by a team  led by Stuart McNaughton, PhD, Professor of Education, Director of the Woolf Fisher Research Centre.  
The 2012 PLD team comprises; Karen Ferguson (Tamaki College), Nick Major (Tamaki College), Fiona Grant (MET), Dorothy Burt (ICTPD).
Sarah Gleeson, who was part of the team in 2011, has returned to St Pius X and is teaching a Manaiakalani netbook class.

The professional development is aimed at developing teacher pedagogy around the use of a managed learning environment and is designed to raise student achievement outcomes and improve engagement. The work also includes parents and families.
